The Projective Differential was developed over 35 years ago by Dr. Peter A. Raynolds as a part of his doctoral research at UCLA's Graduate School of Management. Since its creation, the PD has been used, studied and refined in a number of settings around the world, including academic research, organizational consulting, and individual coaching. Seven doctoral dissertations and numerous projects in management and marketing have employed the PD.
Dr. Scott McCulloch is the energy behind current development efforts, including updating the systems and processes to take advantage of current information and internet technology, and increasing awareness of this powerful technique in the business consulting field. Scott founded Tapintu, Inc. to provide consulting and coaching services using the JOG Your Right Brain™ process, and to train and certify other coaches and consultants in its use.
A. Scott McCulloch, MBA, PhD
Scott has been fully certified by Dr. Raynolds in the use of the PD, including administering PD sessions, analyzing & interpreting PD data, and training others in the use of the PD.
Scott received his PhD in Transpersonal Psychology in 2006 from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto, CA. He received his MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business (formerly the Western Business School) at the University of Western Ontario in 1996.
In his doctoral research, Scott used the Projective Differential to uncover and explore issues related to organizational culture in three privately held businesses. In the process, Scott further refined the use of the PD by adding levels of analysis previously unexplored. His study clearly demonstrated the value of including data from an implicit, nonverbal level of perception along with more explicit, verbal levels of information to derive quantitative measures of congruence and management-employee alignment, producing a deep view into three very different organizations’ cultures.
